KCCI
Communications Coordinator
2018-2019
I managed and created engaging content across social media and email channels to increase brand awareness and drive community engagement for Knight Creative Communities Institute (KCCI). I supported volunteer teams through media outreach, graphic design, a podcast, and strategic marketing efforts, while also coordinating events to ensure smooth operations. My role included grant writing and fundraising to support KCCI’s placemaking initiatives, which focus on enhancing public spaces and quality of life in the Tallahassee community.
Highlighting the change makers & innovation across industries
After networking with many business leaders during my internship at the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce and learning about KCCI's catalyst program, I pitched the idea for a podcast during my interview for an internship at KCCI.
Although I had never created a podcast before, I took the initiative to research topics, guests, and production tools. That idea became a reality when Think TLH launched in October 2018 with a limited-series of 25 episodes. In addition to producing and editing, I also guest-hosted several episodes.
Inspired by the How I Built This podcast, the series helped foster a deeper sense of pride in the community and highlighted the people driving its progress. As the first Tallahassee-focused podcast, Think TLH reached over 3,800 plays and received multiple honors from the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA).

Visit www.kccitallahassee.com/thinkTLH or play the series on any podcast listening platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, and Anchor.
Press Features: View my “Your Turn” in the Tallahassee Democrat, an opinion article I wrote about my inspiration for the podcast and my love for Tallahassee. Read the press release I submitted in Tallahassee Magazine and FSView and Florida Flambeau.
The success of the podcast allowed us to be given complimentary billboards by Lamar Advertising in prime locations to promote the podcast. I designed these digital billboards to catch more listeners during their daily commutes.
I submitted the Think TLH Podcast to the FPRA Capital Chapter’s 2019 Image Awards. The podcast received an Award of Distinction under the Student Category, which is “presented to entries that meet the standards of excellence set by a panel of judges.” It was an honor to attend the event and learn about other inspirational campaigns led by agencies, professionals, and students in the Tallahassee community.
The podcast then qualified for the FPRA’s 2019 Golden Image Awards for the entire state of Florida. The podcast received an Award of Distinction in the Student Category.

#ThisIsKCCI
I was inspired to highlight the passionate and driven KCCI Catalysts, producing a video campaign series with Adobe Premiere Pro showcasing KCCI, its community catalysts, and key placemaking projects. The series captured personal and professional growth while illustrating the positive impact on the area. Below are select videos from the campaign.
Experience Tallahassee
During Experience Tallahassee’s fourth year, I served on the 2018 KCCI Catalyst team, providing creative support for the tri‑university festival that welcomes students and showcases Tallahassee as a great place to live, work, and play.
Social graphics: Designed Instagram, Facebook, and X/Twitter visuals to promote the event.
Sponsorship packet: Produced a concise, tiered packet that secured event partners.
Tallahassee’s Top 50 List: Created a two‑sided guide (events, hotspots, and #SeeTallahassee map) using the festival’s color palette and fonts. Distributed at university orientations, included in corporate recruitment kits, and shared community‑wide to drive engagement and advertise the festival.
These materials strengthened sponsorship outreach, boosted social visibility, and encouraged students and residents to explore the city.
